Jorge Gómez R.
Jorge is a Senior Partner at COREip Attorneys in Mexico City. His practice concentrates in a wide variety of intellectual property (IP) matters, such as trademarks, patents, copyrights and regulatory. Jorge has actively assisted members of the Mexican Congress in developing amendments to the Industrial Property and Customs Laws, concerning the protection of IP rights. Jorge has actively promoted awareness of the tax implications associated with all IP rights in Mexico among international and domestic clients. He also has substantial regulatory experience associated with consumer protection and advertisement laws and Mexican Official Standards (NOMs).
Jorge obtained his law degree (JD) in 2001 from the Universidad de las Americas and has a Bachelor of Arts in US Legal Studies from the Universidad de las Americas. He has worked for various law firms and companies in Mexico, such as Arochi-Linder, S.C., Creel, Garcia-Cuellar, Aiza y Enriquez, S.C. Chevez Ruiz Zamarripa, S.C., DBB and Grupo Televisa, S.A.
In the past three years, Jorge has been recognized by Chambers & Partners, Legal 500 and Managing Intellectual Property for his outstanding work on IP matters and as a rising star.
Jorge is an active member of professional national and international organizations, such as the Mexican Association for the Protection of the Intellectual Property and the International Trademark Association, where he participates in the Leadership Committee.
